El/la candidata/a trabajará en líneas de investigación relacionados con educación inicial en el Centro de Investigación Avanzada en Educación (CIAE). Se espera que él/ella realice investigación en temas que pueden incluir la calidad en la educación inicial, educadoras de primera infancia, impacto de la educación inicial, y colaborar activamente con investigadores del área.

Requisitos:

• Doctorado en Educación o Ciencias Sociales, obtenido entre el 17 de abril de 2016 y el 17 de abril de 2020.
• Poseer publicaciones científicas relevantes
• Sólidas habilidades comunicativas y de trabajo en equipo
• Experiencia en trabajo interdisciplinario es altamente deseable
• Conocimiento del español es deseable, aunque no es necesario

Propuesta de investigación:

El/la candidata/a debe presentar una breve propuesta de investigación (máximo 8 páginas) en relación con los temas de investigación señalados anteriormente.  En la propuesta se debe describir el objetivo de la investigación, la metodología, plan de trabajo y su contribución al campo de la educación.

• Se espera que los candidatos tengan dedicación completa a la investigación, en un ambiente activo orientado a la investigación, sin tareas de enseñanza.
• Duración esperada

o   El CIAE financiará un año. Se espera que el/la candidata/a postule a financiamiento nacional o internacional para continuar su postdoc. La Comisión Nacional de Investigación Científica y Tecnológica (CONICYT) tiene un concurso anual para postdocs.

• Información financiera

o   Salario mensual: $1.800.000 antes de impuestos (aproximadamente 2,700 US dólares)

o   Ticket de vuelo (ida y vuelta) será cubierto

 Post doc position Early Childhood Education

The candidates are expected to join the early childhood education area at Center for Advanced Research in Education (CIAE) of the Universidad de Chile; it is expected for him/her to carry out research related to issues such as early childhood education quality, early childhood teachers, and impact of early childhood education. The candidate is expected to actively collaborate with researchers in this area and other related areas of the CIAE. Our Research Center is located in the city of Santiago, the capital of Chile.

Requirements:

• A PhD degree in Education or Social Sciences or a related discipline, obtained between April 17, 2016 and April 17, 2020.
• Relevant scientific publications.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Experience with interdisciplinary cooperation is highly desirable.

Research proposal:

The candidate must present a brief research proposal (not longer than 3,000 words) to be conducted within the existing lines of research of the Area. The proposal must describe the aim of the research, methodology, research plan and its contribution to the education field.

Information about the position

o    One year. The candidate will be expected to apply for external funding to continue their work at CIAE. The Chilean National Commission of Scientific and Technological Research (CONICYT)has a postdoctoral public contest.
